Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is causing SARS like concerns across the globe as the number of reported cases has dramatically increased by over 28% in the past month. According to the World Health Organization, the total reported cases of MERS is 250 since September 2012 with 93 deaths.
Their is little concrete evidence on where this started from or how exactly it is being trasmitted. Some researchers have found links between bats and camels, however much still needs to be determined.
One this is for sure, the WHO is not taking this lightly. With no cure or treatment available, and the number of cases sharply on the rise, it is important that all healthcare operators practice proper respiratory, droplet and screening programs. Synergy provides N95 Mask Fit Testing to assist healthcare operators with their respiratory protection programs. For more information send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
